Alice and the Fly is intriguing, fast paced and quite honestly addictive. The first person narration was broken only by a segmented police transcript, giving you clues to what lay ahead. The quirks, phobias and extreme introversion of Greg, even in a short space of time, became eerily familiar.
I felt great compassion for this difficult character, who was so clearly trying to minimise his impact on his cold and extremely dysfunctional family. Greg was clearly the crazed one, the damaged one, and yet almost every other character in the story seemed to harbour more hideous, albeit perhaps better hidden, traits.
