Alice and the fly

From the outside Greg Hall seems to be a ‘psycho’. Well that’s what the kids at school call him. But there’s a lot more to Greg than meets the eye, it’s just that most don’t take the time to get to know him. His Nan ‘gets’ him. She seems to understand Greg’s phobias and obsessions. There is no doubt that Greg is different and misunderstood. His brain works differently but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to love or be loved like everyone else.

James Rice does an amazing job of writing about what it would be like to have a mental illness. He draws on his own experiences to create a very realistic and engaging story. Greg stays with you long after you have put the book down. Well worth a read.
