Cake at Midnight reviewed by Wendy

Our heroine Gio (Giovanna) is a pastry chef who loves baking and her childhood sweetheart, Declan. We soon realise that, although Declan loves her back, it isn’t in quite the same way.

Then there is her best friend Zoe. She is also childhood friends with both of them and realises the folly of Gio’s crush.

To make things even more interesting there is a gorgeous, available man living across the corridor from Gio who has a very complicated past and has noticed his very attractive neighbour.

Yes, it is a romance. Yes, it is fairly predictable. Yes, I loved it. The characters are human and endearing and it was quite a wrench when I had to turn the last page and leave them all behind.
