Frances Metcalf’s life revolves around looking after her only son, Marcus, who has just started middle school at an elite private Seattle school called Forrester. The Forrester mums haven’t taken to Frances and she is in great need of a friend. Enter Kate Randolph who appears to be everything Frances is not – wealthy, confident, slim and adventurous. But is she all that she seems? Each woman has a shocking secret to hide.

This novel is immensely readable and thoroughly enjoyable. Robyn Harding understands the power of an intense friendship between two women and the lengths they will go to in order to maintain it.
