Indigo Blue reviewed by Kate

Indigo Blue written by Jessica Watson, author and sailor, is a young adult fiction, however it would appeal to anyone wanting a quick fun read.

Alex has been shipped off to the coast of Queensland to live with her eccentric aunt. Making new friends in year 12 in the small town is hard, but Alex slowly finds her place. Being an avid sailor she buys a run down yacht which she does up with the help of local, Sam. Sam is a merman, and Alex embarks on a learning journey of acceptance and love as we learn more about this species.

I enjoyed Indigo Blue, the fantasy and lovely characters develop a rich story of growth and learning without being too fantastical.
