The Girl from Munich reviewed by Marie

Germany in 1943 and after the war is the setting for this novel, based on diaries left by author Tania Blanchard’s German grandmother. The book asserts that many Germans did not know about the holocaust, or about Hitler. The occupation by the Americans, the lack of basic food, the chaos left by the German Reich, are all described with the unfolding tale of Charlotte von Klein and her Luftwaffe husband.
