The Last Pulse

A fantasy in which a South Australian drought stricken winemaker steals a boat, blows up a Queensland dam and with his eight year old daughter, sails home on the flooded Darling River. There is a mad climatologist, a Queensland Minister for the Environment who is rescued from a port-a-loo, and an Aboriginal boy who believes he has sung the river to life. There are hilarious vignettes of meetings between Federal Cabinet Ministers, and the adventures on the boat are almost believable. A witty satire.
