The Museum of words is a beautiful book about words and their meaning to a woman who is an author and lover of words. Georgia Blain has released this book posthumously, sadly dying from brain cancer which slowly impacted on her ability to formulate words, sentences and books.
The book travels with Georgia through her journey of the word – as a child, with a mother who was also an author (and who died within days of Georgia dying), to her first book and play with words. It details Georgia’s diagnosis, symptoms and the way the cancer impacted on one of the most important parts of her life – writing and communicating.
The Museum of Words is beautifully written and crafted, is also devastating and shows how much we take for granted the ability to communicate.
