The Waiting Room by Leah Kaminsky

The Waiting Room

Dina works as a doctor in Israel, having left Australia, her country of birth behind. Her new life with husband Eitan and son Shlomi is a challenge. She is never really made to feel at home in her new country, she is frustrated by some of her patients and she is pregnant with her second child.

The ghost of her mother constantly reminds her of her tragic life and niggles at Dina as she tries to get on with her own life. Other relatives appear at times with their own horror stories.

The reality of life in Israel is deftly displayed in this compelling book.
