The Shadow Land reviewed by Marie

Bulgaria is a beautiful country, full of history, claims the author, Elizabeth Kostova, who has visited many times. This a story about a young, always polite, pretty American woman tourist who is travelling in the hope she can come to accept the death of a brother. A mix-up of luggage leads to many adventures.

Characters include a taxi driver who is a poet as well as a former detective, a violinist and a rich, evil government minister. A novel of suspense, well worth reading.
