An Unsafe Haven reviewed by Marie

an-unsafe-haven

A poignant description of Syrian refugees, of the place of women in Arab countries, of a bomb blast in Damascus, and of Beirut and the families who live there.

This is a novel which shows that people cope with conflict by pretending that it doesn’t happen, and try to live normally.

A moving story, written by a woman, Nada Awar Jarrar, who is unknown to me, but has published three books.
