We learn much about Papua New Guinea from this novel by Nicole Sinclair who has lived and worked there. The first novel by a prize winning short story writer it tells the tale of a thirty-one year old woman running away from her past and how she eventually returns to her home in Western Australia after recognising that everyone has a story. The description of the love affair between the parents and the death of the wife is interwoven and makes this an enjoyable read.
