City of Friends reviewed by Marie

This a story about four women in their forties who have been friends since university. There is the single mum, the career woman with three children, the wife with a demented mother and the gay academic.

The author, Joanna Trollope, has written 19 novels, and is highly regarded. The balance between work and family is discussed as is the role of women in public life. An enjoyable read.
