Hello, Goodbye reviewed by Marie

A pretty 17 year old Catholic school girl falls pregnant in a small country town. She has used the rhythm method and hasn’t considered the pill, nor has she thought of abortion.

When her pregnancy becomes obvious she flees to Carlton. Her boyfriend who she was going to marry, is killed in Vietnam. Surprisingly her parents provide support when she gives birth. An anti-war novel which reflects the time when unmarried mothers were ostracised.
