An account of grief at the accidental drowning of a two year old in the family pool. The mother, father and brother each have a coping method which rarely works.

Each chapter explores the response of the individual named in the chapter heading. The author Jesse Blackadder, lost a two-year old sister in the family pool, so knows the sense of loss. The blame, and eventually the forgiveness, is crucial to a harrowing tale.
