The Lucky Galah reviewed by Marie

In the imaginary town of Port Badminton, near Shark Bay in WA, in 1964, the year of the Moon Landing, the Dish tracks the Apollo Mission. Engineers and technicians arrive, kids play and a caged galah called Lucky, screeches.

This hilarious novel by Tracy Sorensen, describes passion, tragedy, heat, dust, cyclones, poverty, alcoholism, class differences, and an old Aboriginal woman called Lizzie. A very entertaining read.
