Inga Simpson truly is a tree woman! In Understory she tells of her ten plus year journey in living amongst nature in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
At first Inga can’t see the trees for the forest. But as she learns to live in the forest she also learns the names and characters of the trees growing around her. Inga vividly describes the types of trees and plants in the forest and she tells of their rich and colourful history which she then gently intertwines with her life story.
Clearly Inga finds comfort in living with the trees. She painstakingly listens to the trees and embraces the lessons they have to teach. I’m hopeful for Inga and hope her future includes the forest. She’s a wonderful advocate for the environment and an impressive nature writer.
